Taking about 10 – 15 minutes to complete, we perform BOTOX injectable treatments as an outpatient procedure. Usually, Dr. Chiddy can administer BOTOX injections on the same day as your consultation. Using the upper face, patients will make a variety of expressions, such as squinting or frowning. The facial expressions help us determine where to inject the BOTOX. Dr. Chiddy often places BOTOX injections in between the brows, around the eyes (Crow's feet), and across the forehead. Once he has marked the injection sites, your face is cleaned, and BOTOX is administered with a fine needle. To reduce swelling, bruising, and discomfort, Dr. Chiddy uses a cold compress on the treatment areas. You can request a numbing cream to make the procedure more comfortable. However, because the procedure uses a thin needle, most patients find that they do not need it. Following your appointment, you can resume your normal routine with no required recovery.

After your treatment, you can resume your daily routine. However, patients should avoid strenuous exercise for at least a day. Dr. Chiddy also recommends sleeping upright for the first night and not touching your face, which can accidentally spread BOTOX to other areas. For 2 – 3 days, the injection sites may appear slightly bruised, swollen, or red, but you will not experience any serious or lasting side effects.
